Makrocare: Oracle Clinical Installation helps faster data management, timelines and optimizes cost of clinical Trials

Tuesday, 01st January 2008:
MakroCare, a division of Makro Technologies, Inc. reports that Installing Oracle Clinical has helped the company provide a faster data management solution process for its clients. The process tightens research time frames and optimizes the cost of clinical trials.

With Oracle Clinical (version 4.5.2), MakroCare has the infrastructure to handle global trials, including a world-class clinical trial and clinical data management system (CDMS), Oracle Thesaurus Management System with MedDRA (Version 10) dictionary and SAS.

Oracle Clinical is a comprehensive clinical data management solution that allows companies to standardize and control data definitions and data usage across a global operation, ensuring that data is defined, managed and interpreted consistently worldwide. To ensure that MakroCare’s data management capabilities meet stringent quality standards, the company validates its clinical databases and software in compliance with the regulatory bodies and 21 CFR part 11 environments.

Oracle Clinical differs from most Oracle applications in that it is, in effect, a virtual database system – i.e., an application that creates database applications. All data is captured in a single table, with associations resolved through a stable metadata layer. To benefit from Oracle Clinical, research clients need to look for people with experience, not only with Oracle, but also specifically with Oracle Clinical.

MakroCare established its clinical data management services in the United States in 2001. To further strengthen its clinical data management capabilities MakroCare established an exclusive facility for both clinical data management and trial management services at Hyderabad, India in 2007.
